Overview

This training manual is intended to familiarize you with our training systems, and for you to learn what’s expected of you as a staff trainer. We do not take your role lightly, you will often be the first staff member that noobs meet so please be professional and kind to all of your trainees. Remember that they’re looking at what you do, so set a good example and provide your trainee with the foundation they need to be successful in our server. Be the trainer you wish you had when first starting out!

This manual is broken down into the “flow of training” for ease of reading. For each training you will follow each of these steps and will not move onto the next step until you’ve completed all facets of the respective module.

Step 1: Setting Up For Success

Ensure you’ve set enough time aside to be fully present for your trainee, your preparation is just as important as your execution.

1. Join the Sheriff team if you haven’t already and spawn in a staff car, back into the first parking space so your trainee can see which vehicle to choose.

2. Ask your trainee to join Sheriff, put on a staff uniform and meet you in the parking lot.

3. When the trainee is ready, ask them if they’ve read our rules, if not give them time to read them thoroughly.

4. Ask your trainee to spawn in a staff car.

Step 2: Observation

Now it’s time to observe your trainee and score them based on the criteria listed below.

1. Hop in the passenger seat and let the trainee know that you will be observing them, and the criteria you will be scoring them on. It’s also helpful to let them know that you will ask them to pull over when there’s a staff scene needing attention.

2. When a scene comes up, teleport to the player then bring your trainee. Let your trainee handle the situation and only step in if absolutely necessary.

• Note that when returning, you’ll need to either load or :tocar and your trainee will need to spawn a new vehicle

Now simply rinse and repeat, taking scenes and allowing the trainee to drive around as you observe their driving skills. Refer to the following list to see what you’ll be scoring them on.

• Moderation Skills (0-10)

• Awareness (0-10)

• Driving (0-10)

• SPAG While On Scene (0-10)

Step 3: Conclusion

After you’ve reviewed the trainee take at least three scenes, it’s time to finalize your scores and submit to Discord.

To submit your trainee’s score, add up all four categories and save the total.

Now, in the commands channel type: /train (Trainee) (Score) (Notes) This will submit your trainee for review by high-ranking staff.

You’re done! High-ranking staff will review your trainee asap, please be sure to include detailed notes so we can better assess your trainee.
